Mix prep instructions
You may be new to the process of remote mixing and mastering and you may be wondering how it works.
Below, we have detailed all the steps you will need to take to prepare your audio for mixing at George Dowding Mixing and Mastering, so that you can leave the hard work to us:
-
Remove all of the effects from each track (the engineer will apply their own and will need your audio to be completely raw).
-
Ensure that the output levels of each of your tracks peak between -12dBFS and -3dBFS so that the engineer has optimal headroom to work with.
-
Label each track
-
Bounce each track down as 16 or 24 bit WAV or AIFF files only and ensure that all of the stems are the same length.
-
Include your own working mix as well as some reference tracks for the engineer to work from.
-
Upload your files in the 'Session Upload' area before checkout.
If you have any questions or are unsure about any of the processes detailed above, please feel free to get in touch with us using the contacts form on the homepage, or simply by emailing us at georgedowdingaudio@gmail.com.
